A close friend of mine laughs and quotes this children’s refrain from Old MacDonald every time she hears the IAEA acronym for International Atomic Energy Agency name mangled by reporters. I’ve noticed the flubbing of the IAEA several times as reporters try to cover the inspection aspect of the nuclear agreement to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear arms power.

With the most recent revelation on the nuclear agreement with Iran she may be correct, this may be a children’s nursery rhyme agreement. According to the Associated Press they have seen documents that will allow Iran to use its own inspectors to investigate a site it has been accused of using to develop nuclear arms, operating under a secret agreement with the U.N. agency that normally carries out such work.

Senator John Cornyn said “trusting Iran to inspect its own nuclear site and report to the U.N. in open and transparent way is remarkably naïve and incredibly reckless. This revelation only reinforces the deep-seated concerns the American people have about this agreement.”

I understand Nancy Pelosi, the house minority leader when questioned about the IAEA secret agreement said “I truly believe in this agreement,” I guess at least this democrat will be loyal to the President to the end.

When the press first release some segments of what was ended up being the “final” agreement with Iran. I wrote that even though I thought the agreement was agreed to by the President as part of his legacy plan and it would be greeted by skepticism from much of the public it would be passed. Maybe with this latest release of information democrat lawmakers will not support the President when he veto’s the congressional rejection of this agreement.
