I cannot recall the number of times in the last eight years that I wrote the press was correct on some major political issue. Having said that I believe the press has got it right this time even though it took them almost a year to recognize the fact that the populist is really angry.
It is dawning on the press that when Hillary wins the presidential race she will be facing in large part a hostile public with a real lack of faith in the campaign promises of Hillary, doubts of her integrity and a strong memory of the rant Hillary offered up in the “despicable basket” statement. The press knows that possibly more than half of the voters will stand up against every governmental program she and her staff will propose. The press will of course try to slant Hillary’s proposals in the most favorite light using the right wing conspiracy theory to explain why Hillary’s administration is having such a difficult time getting her program through the congress.
The press will do everything it can to make Hillary the “good guy” but the anger is real and they are just now understanding that fact.
I can’t make any predictions other than to say this time the press is correct and the anger is real but what the angry public will do is uncertain and probably scarier than what we can imagine.
